Description

Colosseum tickets with audio guide also open the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, so you follow ancient Rome at your own speed with commentary on your phone.

Colosseum tickets with audio guide suit anyone who likes to wander without a group and stop when something catches the eye. One entry covers the amphitheatre, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and the commentary plays on your own phone through a downloadable app, so you set the pace for roughly two and a half hours.

Before the visit, download the POP Guide app. At the meeting point a host checks you in and hands over a QR code that unlocks the commentary. Bring your own headphones, as headsets are not provided, and remember that there is no live guide on this ticket.

  • The Colosseum, with the arena floor if you chose that option
  • The Roman Forum, with its temples, arches and the Via Sacra
  • The Palatine Hill, where the imperial residences stand

Inside the Colosseum the audio explains how the Romans built it and what took place in the arena, from gladiator fights to animal hunts. The Forum is where the political life of the city unfolded, and the walk up to the Palatine ends with a view of the Circus Maximus.

Enter the names exactly as they appear on your ID, since every visitor, children and infants included, must show a document at the gate. The ticket is valid only for the entry time booked, and the order of the three sites can change: you may begin at the Forum and Palatine and finish in the Colosseum. Queues for the security check are possible, and the visit is not suited to people with reduced mobility.
