Description
A Vespa sidecar tour in Rome is a fun, stylish way to see the main sights in a short time. Over 90 minutes you ride in a classic Vespa with a sidecar, driven by a friendly licensed local who is a driver, not a guide. The tour starts and ends at Piazza di San Pantaleo.
The first photo stop is the Colosseum. After that the Vespa heads for the Spanish Steps, glides through the elegant Villa Borghese area and pauses for the panorama at Pincio Terrace. Next is Castel Sant'Angelo, for more pictures, and a ride past Vatican City before the return to the start.
There is room for two on each Vespa, so one of you sits in the sidecar and the other on the seat behind the driver, and at the stops you can trade places. You never drive yourself.
- Helmets for everyone, rain ponchos if the weather turns, and a safety briefing before departure
- Insurance cover for passengers
The ride is panoramic, so there are no monument entries. Tips, food and drinks are extra. Children under 6 cannot join. It works well on a first trip to Rome, or with little time to spare.
